If you’re tired of feeling depressed, having anxiety, and feeling like you can’t move forward, you’ve come to the right place. If you’re tired of the past abuse intruding into the present, I can help you find a path out. I’m passionate about providing skilled, experienced, and compassionate counseling to those who experience anxiety, depression, and to those who survived child sexual abuse, sexual assault, and intimate partner violence. I’ve guided hundreds of people into healing. I can help you.

I will work with you to provide the therapy you need. I use various techniques to help you process the trauma: Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Art Narrative Therapy (TANT), Internal Family Systems (IFS, or “Parts Work”), Insight Oriented Trauma Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

You’ve made it here. Isn’t it time to start your own healing journey?

Ireen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York (License 076825), and New Jersey (License SC05921700), and a trauma-focused certified coach able to support people from all states and outside the US.

The work that I do triggers vicarious trauma. Ireen was instrumental in helping me recognize the symptoms of compassion fatigue and simple grounding techniques to use when I am triggered.
Her compassionate demeanor and encyclopedic knowledge of the effects of trauma on the brain are invaluable. I highly recommend her to anyone and everyone.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

Have a companion, witness, and guide to your healing journey.

If you're ready to move forward from the feeling that you’re helpless against depression, anxiety, overwhelming stress, or the impact of abuse, I can be the support and guide you’re looking for. If you’re done with recurring thoughts about negative things that happened in the past or feeling fearful of bad things that may happen in the future, I can help you retrain your brain and body so you will incrementally be free of these unwanted symptoms. Or maybe you don’t want to have flashbacks, unwanted memories that keep returning, feeling as if the past abuse is always with you, or feeling like your body and mind freeze when you smell that scent or hear that voice, I can guide you in gaining power over this. I can help you take back your life again. If you want to invest in yourself, then Individual Counseling is for you. Learn more about it under “Services.”

GROUP COUNSELING

Don’t sail alone. Have a community to learn and grow with.

Do you want to experience freedom with others? Do you want to feel that someone else understands what you're going through? Are you ready to let go of feeling isolated and misunderstood? Groups can help with that. When led by an experienced professional, groups can be healing. People learn to trust, cry, laugh, and grow together in groups. They learn they are not different. They find out their experiences don't separate them from people. They gain hope. If you're ready to meet others who have similar experiences and step on a healing path together, then group is for you. If you've worked on yourself in individual therapy and want to meet others to support and challenge you to greater growth in your journey, then you'll benefit from joining a group. Learn more about Group Counseling under “Services.”

NEED SUPPORT FROM A DISTANCE?

DEDICATED TO CHANGE

Training, Supervision, Prevention

In order to help more trauma victims, it's important to multiply. Skills should be shared. Empowering information should be provided to professionals and faith communities. For years I've provided training and workshops to multiple disciplines: educators, non-profit agencies, and most recently, faith communities. It takes all of us to heal trauma and abuse. If you're looking for a dedicated workshop facilitator, supervisor, or faith community consultant, contact me.

Let's work together and plant seeds of change.
